Hello there,

This home page on Peter Hammill was my first attempt to create something with a computer. I started working on it in October of 1997 and the first draft was finished on the 20th of March, 1998. I have spent the whole year learning to deal with the machine and improving the pages.
I must say that it was an extremely hard task for me. I had no knowledge of computing so I had to learn, step by step, even the most basic things such as "what is a directory?".  Gabriel,  my 11-year-old son, has learned things faster and helped me a lot with those strange Web languages.  Another obstacle I had to overcome was there was practically nothing on Peter Hammill / VdGG available in Brazil . We don't have a single PH album released here.  Except for the old VdGG albums and the Still Life CD, this site is about the only thing you will find in Brazil related to PH/VdGG. Of course, you could always try to go to an imported record shop...
